Find It Without Reading It
Two thousand lines of guides with no search, no filter, and a hundred and sixteen command rows nailed to the bottom of the page. The phrase first verified member appeared nowhere in any of it, and four of the six guilds that dropped Hootus never reached one. So: a search box that knows softres means soft reserves, a pick-who-you-are filter that cuts the page down to your four guides, the commands moved somewhere sensible, and a straight answer for the member who came out a guest.
5 New
Search the docs instead of scrolling them
Twenty four guides and a hundred and sixteen commands, and the only way through was the scroll bar. There is a search box now. It reads headings rather than whole guides, so it lands you on the paragraph, and it knows what you actually type: softres finds soft reserves, holiday finds the away board.
Say who you are and the docs put your four guides first
New here, running raid nights, officering, or standing the server up. Pick one and the page drops to the guides for that job, with a numbered path through them. Pick nothing and you get all of it, same as before.
The slash commands moved out of the docs page
A hundred and sixteen command rows sat under the guides, which is most of the reason the page never ended. They have their own page now, twenty eight rows with the subcommands folded away until you open one.
A raid guide written for the people pressing the buttons
Every word about raid signups was written for the lead posting the raid. The raider clicking Tank got nothing. There is a guide for them now: what the buttons do, why a Mage gets turned down for tank, which DMs land before the pull and how to stop them, and what happens at lock.
A setup guide that ends at a person, not a finished form
The docs walked you through the wizard and then said post your first raid. A raid with nobody verified is a cancelled raid. The new admin starting page is five steps ending at one member holding a role, which is the only bit that makes the rest of it work.
5 Improved
The attendance card is finally written down
Three guides pointed at it and none of them said what it was. Raid leads knew a card existed and knew the command that brings it back, and nothing else. It now has its own step: the three shapes it arrives in, what every button does, and the four things that catch leads out, starting with voice only counting in the raid channel Hootus made at lock.
The guides stopped giving the most room to the least used features
The built-in soft reserve list has never held a single entry and had two thirds of its guide. Raid series has been out three months with nobody running one and had forty lines. Both are down to a paragraph that says what they are and that almost nobody uses them. The softres.it route people actually use is untouched.
The verify guide finally says what a guest is
Come out a guest and the guide you were sent to never used the word, never explained it, and never linked anywhere that did. The only answer was in an officer guide filed thirteenth. Every standing is now written out where you land, in your own terms, with the one command that moves you.
The docs page stopped repeating itself
Six questions that restated the opening of six guides are gone, seven cards describing web pages now link to the guide that covers them instead of sitting there unclickable, and the page ships less than half the bytes it did.
Guides sorted by the job, not by whether you are an officer
In a guild one person is member, raid lead and officer at once, so splitting the docs into two tracks made you check both for one answer. Five groups now: start here, playing, raid nights, running the guild, setting up the server. The guide on fixing a member stuck as a guest was buried thirteenth. It is first in its group.
4 Fixed
Two settings that did nothing are gone
Daily reset hour and weekly reset day sat on the Time page looking like they scheduled something. Nothing read either of them. The timezone above them was always doing the whole job. Both are off the page, and the guide no longer claims they drive your cadence.
Docs search stopped reading only the first paragraph
It indexed the opening of each section and nothing after it, so searching a button name that appeared halfway down a long guide found nothing. It reads the whole section now, and the generator says so out loud if a section ever grows past what it can hold.
Hard reserve presets are not the reserve list, whatever the guide said
One guide called them the drops the guild locks before anyone rolls. Another said they are text for a recruitment post and nothing carries them into a raid. The second one is right. They live in a different table entirely, and the guide that had it wrong now says so.
The docs say what an empty welcome channel costs you
Leave welcome unmapped and Hootus has nowhere to post the verify button and nowhere to greet an arrival. People join, nothing happens, and nobody finds out there was anything to do. Not one guide mentioned it. The setup and channels guides both do.
